      Notes:

      • Orbits 5 is exclusively compatible with X2, Firmware 3.0 or higher

      • Backups are not backwards compatible Orbits 4 backups can be restored in Orbits 5, not vice versa

      • The software will expire on 2016-04-13 To improve support level and to ensure future compatibility across the chain, a new Orbits 5 version will be provided well in advance of the expiration date and will be free of charge.

    • Orbits5 doesn’t connect to my decoders

    • Orbits5 only works with the X2 timing system and will not work with TranX2 or TranX3. To be able to connect to decoders you first need to connect to your X2 server. When you are connected to the server, you will be able to connect to the decoders

    • Why do I need to select an encoding type when restoring an Orbits4 backup in Orbits5?

    • When restoring a backup you will be asked which encoding was used when you created a backup in Orbits4. The encoding is the language pack that was used for creating the backup. Orbits5 is UTF8 compatible. To restore the characters correctly the encoding needs to be selected. When you create a backup in Orbits5 and restore this, it will open as you were used to.

      UTF8 is a character set that supports all global characters.

    • Yes you can. When restoring a backup you will be asked which encoding was used when you created a backup in Orbits4. The encoding is the language pack that was used for creating the backup. Orbits5 is UTF8 compatible. To restore the characters correctly the encoding needs to be selected.

    • This is correct, the merges will be calculated every 5 seconds so there is a delay of max 5 seconds
